The Bonita Foodie's Guide to Eating in Bonita Springs, Part 1

Where to eat when you don't know where to eat

I’ve spent good time (and money) eating and drinking my way through Bonita Springs’ culinary scene … and sometimes I still don’t know where to go.

I created this guide to solve that exact problem. Keep in mind, this isn’t a ranking or an exhaustive “best of” list. It’s simply my humble advice on where to eat when you’re in the mood for something in particular and you don’t know where to find it.

Part 1 of the “Bonita’s Foodie’s Guide to Eating in Bonita Springs” features five restaurants that answer the age-old question: Where should we eat?

When you want to splurge and eat like foodie royalty

The Bohemian

Vibe: Whoever decorated this place has a fantastic sense of style and good vibes: Its walls are painted in a shade of turquoise that’s just right, and the artwork, lighting and decor are eclectic in the best way. (Can they decorate my house?) And once the food arrives, you’ll know you’re in foodie heaven because they be serving perfection on a plate.

Order: Three things that I always get: Yellowfin Tuna Crispy Rice, the Warm Crab & Lobster jar and the Green Goddess cocktail. (Drools in foodie.)

Best for: Treating yo’self or somebody else, celebrating anything, bragging that you’ve been to a Michelin-selected restaurant, indulging your foodie sensibilities, eating food that makes your eyes roll back in pleasure.

My take: Just go. Know that it can be expensive — especially if you want to try EVERYTHING (like me) — but the food is inventive, and leagues better than most other restaurants that charge similar prices. But in this case, you don’t even have to take it from me, even the experts agree: The Bohemian is included in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide.

Tip: I try to get a table inside (make a reservation, indoor seating is limited). They have seating outdoors, and that’s nice too, but I think the food tastes better when it's served in the environment in which it was intended.

When you want seafood and vacation vibes

The Fish House Restaurant

Vibe: Unpretentious spot situated on the water (backwater, not the Gulf to be clear) with open-air seating that always makes me feel like I just got there from the boat or beach … even if I only came from my couch.

Order: Whatever you are in the mood for. I get the Smoked Fish Dip and Blackened Shrimp Tacos or Mahi Sandwich, while my mom swears by the Fried Oyster Basket.

Best for: Having a laid back meal by the water with friends or family, coming straight from the beach or boat, improving your attitude (especially if you partake in the 2-4-1 Rum Runners).

My take: The Fish House has been one of my go-to spots for more than a decade. I love its relaxed vibes, old Florida appeal and because it’s the kind of place where you can show up with sand still clinging to your feet (which is ideal because it’s close to the beach and has docking space for boats).

Tip: Definitely sit outside, the closer to the water the better. They do not take reservations, but they do offer call ahead seating. Definitely call ahead during season.

When you want brunch but make it locally sourced

Harvest & Wisdom

A past daily salad special, with their quiche and ice tea in the background.

YUM.

Vibe: This place makes you feel healthier — but not in a wheatgrass shot kind of way. The menu features organic ingredients and prides itself on being a farm-to-table restaurant: Its produce is grown on-site in its garden and everything else is locally sourced. Plus, it’s tucked away in Shangri-la Springs historic hotel, making it a literal hidden gem.

Order: I love their quiche and salads. Their menu changes with the seasons, and they offer daily specials, too.

Best for: Feeling good about what you just ate, being proud of how healthy you are now, eating with friends or family, not having a Bloody Mary with brunch (it’s beer and wine only), walking around and marveling at the Spring and grounds afterward

My take: This is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch/lunch places. Each plate is beautifully presented with carefully selected ingredients, and I love that most are grown in their own garden! They’ve even managed to surprise me with their salads, as I can’t always identify all the ingredients — but each one is delicious!

Tip: They require reservations. I’ve been known to be naughty and just walk-in (gets slap on wrist) and I usually don’t have too much trouble getting a table. If the weather is nice, definitely sit outside on their back deck.

When you require chicken wings, a side of sports and an impressive beer selection

Lansdowne Street

Vibe: If Boston came to Bonita in pub form and brought its sports. Think dark wood, stained glass and an impressive beer selection situated around Boston Red Sox memorabilia.

Order: Wings. On the sauce spectrum, Lansdowne’s wings are sauce-less but flavor-full. They’re smoked, then covered with a dry rub. Even if you’re someone who normally wants some wings with your sauce, try these as they come — at least the first time. (They do have sauces available if you can’t live without them.)

Best for: Sitting at the bar with wings and a spicy Tito’s Bloody Mary, being from New England and really liking the Red Sox, watching sports, eating good and reasonably priced food.

My take: Lansdowne has some pretty spectacular wings, but the rest of its menu shouldn’t be ignored either. (Note: Try their fish dip, chef’s kiss.) It feels like a neighborhood pub, and is one of my go-to spots for a quick lunch that doesn’t break the bank.

Tip: They have happy hour every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., which I’ve been known to indulge in from time to time. They also serve food late, perfect for a midnight munchie fix.

When you want a craft cocktail as much as you want dinner

Canary Club

My favorite cocktail at Canary Club.

Levant Bloom: elderflower, Aperol, sumac and prosecco.

Vibe: This is a pizza place for grown-ups — in the best way possible. Its bar is unpretentious yet stylish. The food is elevated and chef-focused. And honestly? This place is just cool. (Pretty sure you get cool points for going, too.)

Order: Levant Bloom. Kefta lamb and short rib “meatballs” and whichever of their unique pizzas makes you say “hmm, I think I need to try that.” (Could brisket and peaches on a pizza be the new ham and pineapple? I recommend you find out.)

Best for: Getting both an excellent cocktail and pizza, feeling like one of the cool kids, having a fun night with friends, impressing a date who knows good food, trying something different

My take: If you didn’t already know, Canary Club and The Bohemian are owned by the same people — and man, do they know what they’re doing. Canary Club is brand new(ish) to the Bonita foodie scene and it’s already been recognized in the MICHELIN Guide. They were also awarded a Bib Gourmand which is a special distinction for restaurants that serve high quality food at great value — something that’s a bit of rarity in these parts!

Tip: In addition to their vibing interiors, they also have a large outdoor seating area — so you can tick off cocktails, pizza and sitting outside all at once.
